CONDITIONS FOR A TOURIST VISA

 

The tourist visa entitles anyone who is requesting it to stay on the national territory 30 days and it can be extended twice for the same duration, according to an Administración Nacional de Migración’s provision (National Migration Service). The person who has this type of visa cannot be in gainful employment on the national territory.

 

The tourist visas can be obtained according to the following classification of the countries in groups:

 

Group 1.- (countries which don’t need a visa to enter Bolivia)

 

Foreign people who want to enter Bolivia as tourists, whose countries are in the following list, don’t need a tourist visa to go to Bolivia.

 

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, State of Palestine, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom of Great-Britain and Northern Ireland, Uruguay, Vatican City State, Venezuela.

 

Conditions:

 

When entering Bolivia, you have to:

 

  1. Have your valid passport at least 6 months. If you are a citizen from Andean countries, Mercosur or Associated States, you can enter with your identity card.

  2. International Certificate of Yellow Fever Vaccination

 

Group 2.- (countries which need a visa to enter Bolivia without a request to the Servicio Nacional de Migración (National Migration Service)).

 

Foreign people who want to enter Bolivia as tourists, whose countries are in the following list, need to ask the extension of visa that can be realised at the Consular Section or before entering Bolivia (to the border).

 

Albania, Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, China (including Taiwan), Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Cyprus, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, India, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Oman, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Swaziland, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

 

Conditions:

 

  1. Visa application form (completed and signed). This form will be automatically generated by the system. You must make your application through the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/

  2. Valid passport at least 6 months after the return date

  3. Certificate of yellow fever vaccine

  4. Two recent photos, of 3 x 3 cm, on white background, without hat or other accessories (the photo should be attached to the application form and uploaded to the website)

  5. The Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium will send you the bank details for the payment after the legalisations. Cash payments are not allowed. Any document will be delivered if the payment is not made.

  6. Letter explaining the reasons for travelling or invitation from a resident in Bolivia

  7. Hotel reservation

  8. Plane ticket or travel route

  9. Residence permit in Belgium or Luxembourg

  10. Solvency certificate given by your bank (the last three monthly bank statements)

 

Group 3.- (countries which need a visa to enter Bolivia with a request to the Servicio Nacional de Migración (National Migration Service)).

 

Foreign people who want to enter Bolivia as tourists, whose countries are in the following list, have to ask the extension of visa that would be delivered to the Servicio Nacional de Migración (National Migration Service) for its authorisation.

 

Afghanistan, Angola, Bhutan, Cambodia, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Laos, Libya, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Timor-Leste, Yemen.

 

Conditions:

 

  1. Visa application form (completed and signed). This form will be automatically generated by the system. You must make your application through the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/

  2. Valid passport at least 6 months after the return date

  3. Certificate of yellow fever vaccine

  4. Two recent photos, of 3 x 3 cm, on white background, without hat or other accessories (the photo should be attached to the application form and uploaded to the website)

  11. Updated extract from the criminal record, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  12. Certified translation into Spanish of the extract from the criminal record legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

 

For the GROUP 2 citizens, any application for a visa has to be realised 20 calendar days before the trip. The Consular Section doesn’t accept applications if they exceed 20 days before the departure.

 

For the GROUP 3 citizens, any application has to be realised between 50 and 60 calendar days before the trip. The Consular Section doesn’t accept applications if they exceed 60 days before the departure.

 

Procedure is:

 

  • Complete the Visa form online and upload all documentation from the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/ (See the “instructions in English” on the website link for Assistance).

  • Copy of copies of all documentation, including the signed copy of the Visa form and send all the documents of electronic mail: consulado@embajadadebolivia.eu

  • Once your application is verified online, we will contact you via email and we will give you an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the applicant must go in person, with all the original documentation ordered in a file

  • If the application file for the visa is incomplete, it will be denied.

 

Tourist visa for citizens from the United States (including Puerto Rico).-

 

American citizens who want to enter Bolivia as tourists have to ask for the extension of visa. This can be realised at the Consular Section or before entering Bolivia (to the border). The validity of a tourist visa for the American citizens is 5 years, with multiple entries.

 

Conditions:

  3. Certificate of yellow fever vaccine
