CONDITIONS TO GET A STUDENT VISA: TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FOR STUDENTS WITH OR WITHOUT CONVENTION

 

Any student who wants to study in Bolivia in institutions that have or don’t have interinstitutional conventions with Belgium or Luxembourg have to present the following documents:

 

  1. Visa application form (completed and signed). This form will be automatically generated by the system. You must make your application through the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/

  2. Valid passport at least 6 months after the return date

  3. Certificate of yellow fever vaccine

  4. Two recent photos, of 3 x 3 cm, on white background, without hat or other accessories (the photo should be attached to the application form and uploaded to the website)

  5. The Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium will send you the bank details for the payment after the legalisations. Cash payments are not allowed. Any document will be delivered if the payment is not made.

  6. Leaving certificate legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  7. Certified translation into Spanish of the leaving certificate legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  8. Letter of acceptance of the school where the student will be received and copy of the Interinstitutional Agreement where the type of exchange of students is established

  9. Updated criminal record legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  10. Certified translation into Spanish of the criminal record legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  11. Financial solvability certificate given by the institution at the origin of the travel

  12. Airline ticket or travel route

 

If the student is a minor (less than 18 years old), he/she will have to present these additional documents:

 

  1. Parental travel authorisation for minors signed by the parents and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  2. Certified translation into Spanish of the parental travel authorisation for minors legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

 

CLARIFICATION NOTE.- The requirements established in points 7, 10, 11 and 12 and in case the student is a minor are additional and obligatory by region and must be presented together with all the original documentation.

 

Procedure is:

 

  • Complete the Visa form online and upload all documentation from the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/ (See the “instructions in English” on the website link for Assistance).

  • Copy of copies of all documentation, including the signed copy of the Visa form and send all the documents of electronic mail: consulado@embajadadebolivia.eu

  • Once your application is verified online, we will contact you via email and we will give you an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the applicant must go in person, with all the original documentation ordered in a file

  • If the application file for the visa is incomplete, it will be denied.

 

Any request has to be presented between 30 and 10 calendar days before the departure. The Consular Section doesn’t accept requests of more than 40 days.

 

Cost:

 

Cost for a Student Visa = €50

Cost per legalisation = €50

Office hours for the reception of the documents: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, Avenue Louise, 176, 1050, Brussels.
